Role of working memory in interlimb generalization of newly learned skills

Yadav, G., Pal, R., Matkar, S. et al.

Scientific Reports · Nature Portfolio · 2025

This study examines how working memory availability during and after motor practice affects the extent to which a newly learned skill can be transferred to the opposite (untrained) limb. The findings reveal a time-sensitive window during which working memory plays a critical role in consolidating and generalizing motor memories.
